“Always Looking For The Picture” Photograph by Angela Hannington Click to Enlarge
I   have   been   a   photographer   for   many   years,   more   recently   taking   my   photography   to   a   different   level:   a   pleasantly   obsessive   pursuit   where my   eye   for   detail   and   image   enhancement   is   a   benchmark   in   my   pursuit   of   excellence.   I   have   cultivated   the   art   of   photography   to   follow the   same   rules   of   engagement   -   care   and   attention,   an   appreciation   of   shape   and   form,   an   understanding   of   the   tools   of   the   trade,   and patience, infinite patience. Setting   up   the   shot   is   not   a   hurried   moment,   gauging   the   essence   of   light   is   a   calculation,   using   technical   experience   to   wring   the   best from   my   camera   is   critical.   I   am   currently   using   a   Nikon   D750   full   frame   DSLR   camera.     Always   carrying   a   camera   and   capturing   a   moment is   preferable   to   the   pangs   of   regret   when   an   opportunity   is   missed,   the   camera   left   at   home.   For   me,   photography   is   not   so   much   an interest, as a way of life. Manipulating   the   photographs   using   the   complexities   of   Adobe   Photoshop   and   Adobe   Lightroom   software   is   time-consuming,   however   the finished   result   is   very   satisfying.   Creative   image   making   is   currently   of   great   interest,   though   my   subject   scope   is   infinite.   I   am   in   awe   of some   of   the   fantastic   architecture   that   this   country   has   to   offer.   People   fascinate   me   too,   catching   a   fleeting   expression   that   speaks volumes, whether in a studio or real location, is the pinnacle that makes a winning photograph. My   talent   has   been   recognised   by   no   less   bodies   than   the   Royal   Photographic   Society    (RPS),   of   which   I   am   currently   a   Licentiate   member, the   Photographic   Alliance   of   Great   Britain ,   by   whom   I   was   awarded   a   Credit   Certificate   (CPAGB)   and   the   British   Photographic   Exhibitions (BPE)   from   whom   I   have   achieved   the   BPE   Three   Crown   Award   (PBE3*).   I   was   privileged   to   have   two   of   my   prints   selected   by   the   London Salon of Photography for their 2014 International Exhibition. I   am   Webmaster   for   Aston   on   Trent   Local   History   Group ,   Webmaster   for   Derby   Sands ,   a   bereaved   parents   group,   founder   member   of   the DARC Technology Club  and previously spent many years as an Adobe Photoshop tutor in the Derbyshire adult education programme. I am a member of Rolls Royce (Derby) Photographic Society  and Truro Camera Club .
